Drivefilter launch

I recently launched a new website for automotive news and bookmarking. www.drivefilter.com is still in its early stages with most of the news being added by myself. I'm hoping to gain exposure as I add more content to the site and as Google slowly picks up that drivefilter has a lot of relevant content.

At this point, the site is focused mostly on news. I've added a lot of stories about General Motors, Ford, and Chrysler and the issues they've been dealing with lately. There are also a couple of bookmarks and some links to articles with new models and concepts.

I'm considering aggregating some of the content to take a bit of the work off my shoulder until there is a larger user base.

The site is run on drupal, a great open-source CMS package that has a fairly short learning curve, a ton of options, and a great user community.

Volunteering for the United Nations

Several months ago (March 2006) I decided to take on some volunteer work. I didn't want just any volunteer work though. What I was looking for was an opportunity to share more than just my time. After a little Googling, I came across the United Nations Volunteers website (www.onlinevolunteering.org). The UN offers a fantastic opportunity to share expertise with International NPOs without leaving the comfort of your home.

I am currently working on a web design project for the Mukono Multi-Purpose Youth Organisation (www.mumyo.org). They are doing some great work in Uganda and I am pleased to be able to contribute to their efforts.

Just a test post.
